I'm looking at those Jones Co., GA Chapman's also. You might want to see if
they are connected to the Christian Co., KY Chapman's. There are a lot of
name similarities between the two groups. I believe that my great great
great grandfather was James Chapman who married Sarah Gilpin in 1849 in
Upson Co., GA. So far I haven't found any Chapman's in Upson Co., GA so
that must mean that he was from a neighboring county .... or close by
anyway....
I'll keep your info on file and if I run across anything that looks
interesting I'll let you know. Give me time though....my 3 year old is in
the hospital and all I'm doing right now is emptying my mail box so that it
doesn't fill up.

Subject: [CHAPMAN-L] SAMUEL DAVIS CHAPMAN
Looking for the parents, siblings, ect. of Samuel Davis Chapman born
1806
in
South Carolina. On one census he stated his parents born in
Virginia.
Married Martha Etheridge in Jones County, Ga. Moved to Dallas and then
Marengo County, Alabama. Two sons with the middle name McDonald. The
only
other clue I have is a reference made that "Mac (my great-great
grandfather)
Chapman and Dave Chapman were cousins". Dave Chapman was from
Clarke
County,
Alabama. Any information or leads welcomed.
Thanks,
Liz
