Just a short message to those of you out there who have been keeping my
family in your prayers. My little three year old daughter is still in the
hospital and will remain so for the foreseeable future. Her diagnosis has
gone from dehydration brought on by the stomach flu to a bowel obstruction
to colitis to what it is now...a ruptured appendix. At this time they are
giving her triple antibiotics and are buying time to put off the necessary
surgery. While she has improved some, she is by no means out of the woods
and is frightened and very uncomfortable with multiple IV's and a tube down
her nose. I'd be grateful if you would continue to send your prayers and
good thoughts for her recovery. Her father and I are taking turns spending
the night with her while the other one takes care of our other children.
I wish all of you a Happy New Year. Quite frankly I am envious of those of
you able to be together with your friends and family on this night. Please
remember to make the most of all the opportunities you are given. And, may
all our new years be better than the ones we leave behind.
