Jean,
I'm searching for Simon Chapman and his family, Ann Matthews, Gerrit Chapman,
and a sister Mary Chapman I believe. They migrated from Seneca Falls, New York
about 1836 to Michigan. Simon's sister, Arietta Chapman was my ancestor. The
only place I find her mentioned, so far, is in the will of Wilhelmus Mynderse.
Her son Andrew Chapman Mynderse is also the son of Wilhelmus Mynderse, however,
there is no indication that Arietta Chapman and Wilhelmus Mynderse ever
married. So have you run across Simon and his family in your research? Could
they possibly be connected to your family? I figure if I can trace Simon,
Arietta's brother, I can find Arietta's family.
Thanks,
Carol in Calif

from there, and did some research at the Tacoma Library (has a great
genealogical area!) on my collateral Chappies who moved from NY to MI in
1865, then some of them to Everett and Lowell in Snohomish County about
1900. In my search I came across many, many Chapmans. Good luck! Jean
