Judy,
It does pique my interest. I am trying to find more about a Joseph
Chapman that, according to entries in the Probate Court records,
was "late of Hartford, Vermont." I don't know if he died in Hartford,
or elsewhere. I think, again, unproven at this time, that he was the
same patriot that, among many others, that fought at the Battle at
Lexington and perhaps at the Battle at Concord,Mass.
I need to verify his birth and death dates and places of each.
He had six children. among those known children wer two boys,
Orange and Wales. I am descended from Wales.
Does that help pinpoint that Joseph?
Harold

Hi all! I mentioned earlier this week that the NEHGS has a
wonderful
circulating library and just looked at their catalog for this, finding 7
different volumes on the various Chapman families! Also while I was
visiting their web page I found that in the loose paper collections,
they have a Chapman collection including some Chapman diaries which I
will paste in here to see if anyone is interested and/or lives near
Newbury Street in Boston?! >
