Hi Everyone!
Well, I'm still searching for more information on my Thomas Chapman (c.
1758 to 1828) who (until a few weeks ago) I thought lived in Warren County,
KY.
Made contact with a woman who claims that the Thomas Chapman in Warren
County, KY is hers and that he was from Maryland (has no documentation on
this!). However, she has a notation that lists a Thomas Chapman living and
dying in Henry County, VA around 1828 AND that he was the brother of Nathan
Chapman in Bedford County, VA.
As Nathan is my 4th great grandfather, this made me sit up and take notice!
She claims that she got this information from the National Archives files
on Thomas. However, the copies I found at our State Library (on microfilm)
do not have this information.
So, looks like I've found another avenue to research, but I'm still holding
onto my Kentucky information just in case!
Anyway, if anyone out there can help me out with any information on Thomas
Chapman in Henry County, VA, I'd sure appreciate it! Also, can anyone
explain to me the difference between microfilmed National Archives
information and their published index? Wouldn't they be the same? Or am I
confusing two different types of records?? Help! GRIN
Thanks!
