I was interested to see a early connection of the Chapman families with the
Ragsdale families. This was on the list a few weeks ago and I have had to
change mail programs so not sure when. But I am interested in the marriage
of Mrs. Sarah Chapman and Berry Ragsdale in 1813 in Jackson Co. Ohio or
rather Scioto then I would think. But what I am looking for is a step
father for James Chapman that family history has coming to that area and
having a step-father as his father died.
James Chapman married Rebecca Radcliff in approx 1816 and I haven't been
able to find the marriage though again family history says it was in
Jackson Co., but it was not a county until later in 1816. So does any body
have any suggestions? This family was in Franklin Township of Jackson Co.
and I do not know what that was before it was Jackson.
David Radcliff was suppose to be Rebecca's father, but have not found one
old enough yet.
The Radcliffs and the Chapman family could have come from Chatham Co. NC as
I have received a letter that said a lot of them were and a lot of the
Chapman married with Ragsdale so this may be a lead I have looked for for
12 years. Does any body have anything to shed some light on it?
