hair of my
GGrandfather, Elisha W. CHAPMAN .
I don't have much on the CHAPMAN line. Elisha (see below) was my gr.
grandfather. He fought in the Civil War on the side of the Union Army,
was initially mustered in at New Lexington, Ohio, Co. K, 62nd Reg't., Ohio
Infantry. He was taken a prisoner of war at Appomattox. He and his wife
Rhoda (nee KINDER) lived in the area of New Lexington, Ohio until their
daughter Mary Alice was five years of age, at which time they migrated to
SW Wisconsin.
That's it. If anyone can fill in the gaps from Elisha on back I'd be ever
so grateful.
Oh. His CW papers state that he was 6 ft. 1 ins. tall, fair complected,
light hair, and gray eyes. Anyone seen him?
