While doing some typing for the Cass County, Michigan GenWeb site --
http://home.sprynet.com/sprynet/Hood/cassix.htm -- I found myself typing a couple of
Chapman biographies (written in 1906), for FRANKLIN CHAPMAN and H. SYLVESTER CHAPMAN, and
I thought I'd mention them in case anyone suspects that his or her Chapman ancestor
might have lived in Michigan during the 1800s.
Their father was JAMES M. CHAPMAN, born in Medina County, OH in 1818. Their
grandfather was LEVI CHAPMAN of Vermont, and Levi's father was BENJAMIN CHAPMAN, also
of Vermont.
These biographies were probably paid for, as everyone who's in them is so highly
praised and much is made of little -- However, they are long and very interesting, full of
facts about birthdates and places, military experiences if any, and a lot more, not only
about the subject, but sometimes about the subject's parents and sometimes
grandparents and so on back. Sometimes they include the wife's lineage, also.
