Fellow Rooters,
I know this might not quite be "Chapman" related, but I have a question
concerning birth certificates and am wondering how you would handle it.
I was at the local FHC today looking at some films I had ordered. In
the birth index for Glastonbury, CT, for my great grandparents there are
two births listed. The dates are listed, but no name of the child. I am
presuming they had not decided on the name at the time the certificate
was filed.
Now, 1 date coincides exactly to that of my grand-father (based on
family tradition, death certificate, etc). The other, coincides to the
birth of his sister. I had already attempted to obtain their birth
certificates (under their names) from Glastonbury, but they don't have a
record.
Now, in this situation, how would you go about reconciling the "blank"
birth certificates (or birth dates) with the names I believe are
attached to them. I had already been in contact with the church where
my great grandparents were married, but they had no record of either my
grandfather or his sister being born or baptized there.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
