Now, in this situation, how would you go about reconciling the
"blank"
birth certificates (or birth dates) with the names I believe are
attached to them.
I don't think you have described a conflict which requires reconciliation.
If for example, you have a death certificate for John Doe which gives his
birth date as 27 April 1999 and his parents as James and Jane (Roe) Doe; and
you have a birth certificate for __________, son of James and Jane (Roe) Doe
on 27 April, 1999, then the birth certificate certainly constitutes primary
evidence for the secondary information (his birth and parents) contained in
the death certificate. And, of course, the same is true for his sister. So,
nothing to reconcile.
I have a similar problem with the death certificate of Austin Flagg which
states that he was born in Springfield, MA; that he was age 67 years 11
months and 10 days on 24 Jan, 1874 and that his parents were Parley Flagg and
Pursis Fisk. He is certainly the same individual as the Austin Fiske found
in the birth records of South Brimfield or Wales, MA born on 14 February 1806
to Persey Fisk (and of course, the records of his brother William Flagg match
a birth record for William Fisk. I still have the problem of trying to
figure out if Perley Flagg and Persey Fisk ever got married or just filed
intentions; if they did get married were they divorced; did Perley really die
when the boys were young as was handed down via family tradition, or is he
the same Perley Flagg who m. Mary Brown in Worcester, MA.
Perley Flagg was the son of Rufus and Martha (Chapman) Flagg and believe she
may be the Martha Chapman b. 30 August 1743 to John and Martha (Perley)
Chapman which would make her the aunt of Johnny Appleseed.
