Hi All,
It is incredible that the same names are in both families, but the connection
has to be back in generations and the only way to find it is to take one baby
step at a time. You only spin your wheels by TRYING to connect just
because of
names. So far the William C is looking good for a son of James since the same
children and spouse is named in census, but with the dates of Kelly's and the
dates of Gail's there is not a likelihood of there being a connection
unless it
is back with the Great Grand fathers. All children were named the same back
then or close to it!! Wish we had a looking glass where we could peek back
there and see what the devil they were doing and thinking.
James had to have family somewhere --he didn't just hatch in Jackson Co. Ohio
but we haven't found the connection yet. Need a family Bible or a bio from
one of his children that gets more specific. I have Robert Chapman's civil
war pension and that gave me a lot but not James father, They were not land
owners so it leaves us without wills and deeds to show parentage. No, census
until 1850 to know which child fit where, but there is a clue some where and
when we find all the children we may have it.
Gail, You say two of William's children born in different states the same
year??? 1856--He could do it, but could Jane<G> --
How close is Mercer Co. MO to Iowa??
Might get your contact in Mercer Co. to check for marriages of Margaret and
Mary
C. should be about the time of the civil war--Oh, forgot you said it
burned--did they reconstruct any marriage data from histories?? Any idea
who
William R married --Robert I would think since his brother was Robert Ross
--could be Ross to for the place his mama was born.
Anybody on the list that has a place to search for Civil War vets from MO?? I
can't find my address and since I am in LA it might be a wrong one anyway<G>
all grandchildren and nieces and nephews are from the other side that I have
been researching lately.
Let's keep plugging away --we got to get a Brother of James to be the
grandfather of Kelly's bunch--LOL
