As a loyal Canadian, I also lament the the unjust way that the British
Government chose to take advantage of their new colonies, by taxing them and
skimming off their valuable resources to feed their British "Industrial
Revolution" and then selling these resources back to their colonies as
manufactured goods at great profit, while denying the colonies the right to
process their resources themselves, and develop their own government.
As damnable as their actions were, how much more damnable are the counties
which, having that done to them and knowing the devestating effect it can
have on a developing country, later turn around and do even worse things to
other smaller countries, interfering with their economy and political
system, especially if they try to promote social equality to oppose the
autocratic puppets established by the dominating country.
Anyone from South America knows how the "tail wagged the dog" in their
country, and how powerless they are to oppose the modern "Industrial
Revolution" as developed in America.
I'm sure that after suffering such great persecution for the sake of
freedom, persectued American patriots mentioned in the above article would
be very embarassed at what their country has allowed "big businesses" to do
to other countries, and even to many of their own countrymen, - all in the
name of freedom and free enterprise. Russia isn't the only country guilty
of teaching revisionistic history to their children, - they're just not as
good at it as Americans.
Happy "First of July" from a proud, but humble Canadian !!
