Hi Peggy,
My Thomas Chapmans was from England,
His second marriage to Mary Olive Smith in 1826 in N.S.
Their daughter Mary Ann Chapman was born in 1831, in N.S.
{ She married William Charles Hays in 1851, in N.S.}
Mary Olive {Smith} Chapman died of cholera in 1832
Thomas Chapman was a mariner,
He went to sea one day when his daughter Mary was a young girl and never
returned.
Above facts proven with birth, marriage, death certificates and 177 page
Autobiography of Arthur Wood Smith..
We can not make any connections with out written proof in
one form or another of yours and mine..
With out you having any proof it doesn't look like our Thomas's are the same
man.
Happy Hunting,
Betty.

Hi Betty,
I hope we make a connection on Thomas!
To answer your questions...
What ship did your Thomas come over on???
When did he come over???
Where did he land at???
Where did he settle at???
I do not know what ship he arrived on or exact date.
I believe he settled in (West) Virginia.
Our line comes down through Thomas' son, William who married Elizabeth
Cullen about 1745.
As I said Thomas is my brick wall and as with all early families, they did
use the same names over and over again down through the generations.
Making it
tough to sort it all out.
Thank you for any light you can shed on Thomas.
Peggy Chapman
