Hi Mari,
Thanks for your response & helpful suggestions. I'm flying into Kansas City
(Intl) to visit Daviess & Harrison Co's MO & Atchison Co. KS initially -
I'm
planning to spend a week in that general area. The following week, flying
via Dallas fort Worth, I will spend most of my time in Clay, Wichita &
Wilbarger Co's, Texas.
Barry

When I go out of state, I have a smaller notebook rather than my larger
one, that I take along.
Copy the pertinent family group sheets. OR, a genealogical report for
each
main ancestor that you think you will be dealing with. Something
loose-leaf,and also extra papers. There are sites that have free forms
that you can also print off....such as cemetery, research notes, etc.
that
maybe you could make use of. I wouldn't use anything that is
bound. Keep
it simple, AND loose-leaf. That way you can move them to your permanent
record keeping folder.

Barry, Can you give the counties? And, if you have specific ones in mind,
it might be a good idea to write them and let them know you are
coming......tell them when you'll be there, and maybe that way your time
will be more wisely and hopefully profitably spent.

As Sharon said, they usually have set business hours. But it would be
good
to write the specific one you want to go to and just kind of smooth
the
way
for yourself. :)

Barry, Iive in Central IA. If I knew what county in NE Nebraska, or NW
MO,
I might be able to help more........Texas is out of the question for
me. However,I have a distant cousin that lives in Arlington......who is
an
*excellent* researcher....you might contact him for Texas info..
That's about the extent of my "helpfulness"
