Michael, I found Strother Chapman in the "History of Union County
Kentucky." Don't know how this fits into your information but I'd like
to find out.

Addie Gale Chapman married Chicester Leroy Long who's father was the
Regimental surgeon in Morgan's Tenth Calvary. His uncle Leroy was
a Major in the Confederacy and spent a large portion of the war as a
POW at Johnson's Island before being pardoned by Abraham Lincoln. His
Uncle Armistead is Brig Gen Armistead Lindsay Long, CSA.
Don't know if this helps but it is interesting. I'd like to see what
you have for this family.

I have research showing an Andrew B. Chapman as the son of John
Strother
Chapman (1784-1851) and Mary "Polly" Casey Waggener (1788-1848) of
Union/Henderson Co., Kentucky. A Union Co., KY marriage record shows Andrew
Chapman married to Elizabeth Hooper (m. 29 Jul 1840, Union Co., KY). A
Union Co., KY court record shows Andrew B. Chapman married to Jane and
living in Van Buren Co., Arkansas. My research shows that Andrew B. Chapman
is the son of John Strother Chapman (1784-1851) who is the son Thomas
Chapman (1753-1795) who is the son of James Chapman (d. 1785) and Jane
Chapman of Orange and Frederick Co., VA. The B. in Andrew B. Chapman's name
may stand for Bell, a family name. All of my research and sources are
posted at this web address:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~mchapman/. There are errors in the
information that I have posted on my webpage, so please verify my work with
your own research. I have contributed my DNA to the Chapman DNA group but
so far there is no match. Some years ago I forwarded my research to the
Chapman Family Association (my Chapman Family Association number is MHL-247)
and to Mr. Alford, to whom I owe a debt of gratitude for his comments and
suggestions on researching and extending my line. I am glad to share all my
research and to make new contacts.
