Margie,
Do you have any information on a Chapman family who
would have had a daughter by the name of Colleen or
Colline? She was the mother of my great grandmother,
Mary Massey Hooper Cheek. Mary's death certificate
was witnessed by a Cheek, I do not know if he was her
husband or maybe a stepson. She died in Anderson Co.,
SC in 1927 at the age of 51. That would have made her
have been born around 1876. I realize that sometime
people give inaccurate information. The death
certificate stated that Colleen or Colline was German
and married Ben Massey was from SC. They must have
lived in NC during the 1890s or earlier because she
married married my great grandfather, Henry Hooper
around 1890. They were married at the home of Henry's
brother Benjamin Hooper. Probably around Sylva, NC.
Any male Chapman's in your family, I would appreciate
the names of any who might be of the age to have a
daughter born around that time. I have been searching
for several years to no avail. I can't find her or
Ben and I have many, many cds from Family Tree Maker.
Sometimes I wonder if their names were just made up or
if they were just hatched. Seriously, I would
appreciate any information you may have to help me.

Neil, I will be happy to share what information I
have on my CHAPMAN line. My grandmother was Lula
Rebecca Chapman from the Ward, South Carolina area.
I have pictures of tombstones for some of the
