AND........
My Great grandfather and his sister were raised by an Aunt.
Also, this same Aunt was given her minor brothers to raise when her mother
remarried.
Happened apparently more frequently than we'd suspect!

TRUE my farher was raised byhis maternal grandfather, hence he carries
THAR surname, and not the name of the divorced bigamous father, who
remains unknown to this day on records.
