Karen,
I have a line of the CHAPMAN family which migrated to Wisconsin in 1851
from Yorkshire. James CHAPMAN, born 1814 in England, came to the States
with his wife, Hannah BOOTHROYD CHAPMAN, and their children, which
include at least the following: William; George; Mary Hannah; and,
James, Jr. They traveled in a group which included Hannah's brother,
William BOOTHROYD, and his family.
I have not, to date, been able to identify the exact number of related
families who migrated together, but have some references to "5 of
Chapman's boys" which leaves 2 of whom I have not identified. This
BHAPMAN family moved to Racine Co., Wisconsin before 1856, but by 1870
seems to have spread out in several directions, and into at least 2
states. It is possible your Charles Richard was a part of this line,
and I would like to discuss this.
