I am sorry I cannot help you, but not too long ago there were some people on
this net that had Abner Chapman in their line and they were from Georgia.
Maybe you will get an answer since this went out on the Chapman list.

Subject: [CHAPMAN-L] Abner Chapman
Susan,
Since some of the people my Chapman line married into were in GA via
Abbeville, NC, I am prompted to ask you if you have any information re
an Abner Chapman, b. C 1800 in GA, d. 1860-1870 Pike Co. GA. He married
Elizabeth Barrett 9 Feb 1825 b. NC (Abbeville?). That and his progeny
is all I know about him.
He is my GGGrandfather and I would love to know his origins.
Thanks so much,
Barbara Chapman Brotherton
