Donna,
I live near Dayton ,too. We used Family Tree for 2 lines to be tested
and it all went well. You can place the order from
. We paid for the highest
number of markers. If you tell them you are a Chapman there may be a
discount since there is a Chapman project they tested. My 2 lines were
Gaskill and Shelton.

I'm in the Dayton, Ohio area.
I really, really appreciate all input!!!!
Thanks for the information below as it REALLY helps! I'll be hopefully
filling a few jars later today for 'just in case' I don't get a kit in
time.

Hello Donna,
You don't say where you live and it might be faster to order your test
from
a local company but you might get a better deal from one of the bigger
testing labs in the US and UK.
Meanwhile, I suggest as a backup, just mark one end (or take one end off)
of
couple of clean cotton buds making sure that you don't touch the remaining
end. Then just run the budded end around the inside of your Dad's cheek
giving it a slight turning motion whilst you do it. This takes some dead
cells off the inside of his mouth and they can be used to collect his DNA.
It is very important NOT to touch the collecting end as that can
contaminate
your Dad's DNA with that of whomever touches it.
Keep the two buds separately in a sealed, clean, glass jar and use them in
case you don't receive the real kit in time from your chosen DNA
laboratory.
Hope this helps...
