Hi Betty, Thanks for getting back to me so fast.. Guess you are about
as excited as I am. Yes Mary Ibbitson has been mentioned. Gosh I don't know where to
begin. I know a person who was helping a "cousin" by marriage in the 1980s'
and she gave me a small portion of what she had found. Anyway, She said that William
Chapman from Yorkshire came over to Nova Scotia in April 1774 on the ship called,
"Albion",and that they lived in Point de Bute area on the border of New
Brunswick and Nova Scotia. So William and Mary had nine children, their 2nd son, Thomas
married Abigail Cain and they had 9 children as well and lived in Ft. Lawrence area. Their
son,Thomas married Sarah Coates and they had 9 children too. Their 2nd son, Joseph married
a Jane Scott and they lived in Butternut Ridge, N.S. near Salisbury and Havelock
N.B..Joseph and Jane had 14 children and from there comes my line from George Stanley
Chapman who married Catherine Steeves and from this union comes my Grandfather Roy!
!
Allison Chapman who married Grace Eldora (Yates). Now I don't
have alot of my information as it has been packed up and right now is in storage in Maine.
Its a long story and I'll write to you via email if you like so as not to post it all
over the web. Now as far as anyone being married twice, I don't see it in what info I
have here. So tell me which person you are talking about and I'll look at what I have.
The only picture I have is Grace E. (Yates) Chapman, and have that because she was a
Registerd Nurse. And I think it was from the Boston area. So where (city) do the Gates
come from in Maine?? I was born in Gray, Me. Well email me asap and we'll go from here
ok? SOOOOOOOOOO Cuz, looks like we finally hit pay dirt huh? Talk to you later Judy

e closest person to me that I've been able to find in years. My
Chapmans come from Yorkshire England. Going to Nova Scotia or New Brunswick . Boston is
where my maternal grand mother was from and she married a Chapman from New Brunswick
Canada. This is where the problem has been for years. I was told years ago her (madien)
name was Grace Eldora (Yates) but I can't find her in Boston or her father William
Frank Yates. Never heard about her mother. But seeing you say Gates and in Boston I'm
woundering if I have the wrong spelling.?? Even though she lived with my family for years
in Maine, while growing up, she never once talked about her family. My mother Catherine
Barbara (Chapman) Smith, was also born in Middlesex Boston. Anyway here is the line as I
know it..> >William Chapman was age b:1730 in Yorkshire England. He married Mary ??
who was b: in 1732 they had nine children.the oldest being 19 and youngest was 01 when
they came to New Brunswick and or Nova Scotia in 1774. !
C!
hildren are as follows, William, Thomas, Jane, John, Mary, Henry,
Jona
than, Sarah, Ann Chapman in order of their births. Now my line goes from Thomas sr., Thomas
jr., Joseph who married Jane Scott, they had 14 children, one named George Stanley who
married Catherine Steeves and they had 07 children. One of them being Roy Allison Chapman
who married Grace Eldora (Yates). Okay you take it from here anything sound or look
familiar?? Thanks, Judy(Smith)Davis from Lehigh Acres, Florida USA my email address is :
