Tom, mom had said she only knew Joseph's name and that he was a much older
man than Jennie. I don't know how much older he was than Jennie. Another
thing mom said was that dad never saw his father. That is the extent of what
was said about Joseph and that wasn't until the 1980's, we really didn't
know for sure if dad's father was a Chapman or not until I took the DNA
test. My father died in 1965. Another thing that makes it hard finding out
anything is the flooding for so many years in Williamson, WV. the county
seat of Mingo County.

There is a 28-year-old Joseph Chapman in Pike, Kentucky, which is not
far
from Logan. He seems to be the most likely one that can be found by 1910
census. Has a wife and two sons.
