Barry,
Have you checked out the USGenWeb pages? Some of the counties are putting
bunches of information online.......Also, see if there's a Genealogical
Society in the area......sometimes they do lookups for free......

Hello Listers,
CHAPMAN LOST!! - Advice or help requested to trace ODE CHAPMAN, a brother
of my grandfather, who was born Dec 1883 in Missouri and at the time of
the 1900 census, he was living on the family farm in Atchison Co., Kansas.
The only traces of him I can find thereafter is 1) in 1926, he was
reported to be living in Boise, Idaho and 2) in 1942, he was reported to
be living in Oregon.
I confirm that he does not appear in the 1920 census for Kansas or Boise,
Idaho and he is NOT listed in the SSDI, the Oregon Death Index, the Idaho
Death Index 1921 to 1950 nor in the California Death Index 1940 to 1997.
My logic says I should check the death indices for Washington State,
Montana and Wyoming but is that possible online?? Could Some Kind Soul
offer advice or help/suggest other methods/recommend the next line of
research for me to follow in my search for Ode Chapman? I live in
Australia so need to do things via the Internet/email or snail mail, if
necessary.
TIA,
Barry Chapman.
