Some of the Chapmans who came to IL in the 1830s settled in the
Clark/Crawford Co area and some settled in the White Co. area. In the Clark
Co History it tells of 4 brothers, William, John, Jacob and Edward, who
came to IL from KY and first settled in Verminllion Co IL and then moved to
Clark/Crawford Co. IL. Wm. b. 1809 was my GGgrandfather. I have no
information on any on the other brothers but if you have any information
about them, I would love to hear from you. I have a copy of the IL state
wide death index up to 1950 and IL marriages 1763-1900 if I can be of help
to anyone.
