Bruce, are you familiar with the Chapman family from Saluda County, SC in
middle to late 1800s? I am looking for Lula Rebecca Chapman that married
Oliver Allen Puckett around 1893/1896. According to Lula's obit her sister
is Emma Chapman Turner wife of James Everett Turner Emma and James are
buried at Good Lutheran Church in Ward, SC along with Emma's mother. I can
not connect Lula to her parents or siblings.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thank you,
Margie Puckett Barton

John Evans.
Here's a long shot on your Joseph Chapman. My wife's grandfather was
Joseph
R. Chapman
Born (1838/39) - Taliaferro Co GA
Parents
William CHAPMAN ca 1812
Ann CONNELL 1795-1880
Marriages and children
Married on 10 April 1859, Taliaferro Co, GA, to Minerva WHEELER 1843-1906,
with
William 1863
Edward D. 1865
Henry C. 1869-1938
Clarence 1871
Mettie 1875-1915
John 1877-1954
Baby 1880
After his wife died in 1906 (in Taliaferro Co, GA), Joseph disappeared and
was
never heard from again. West Virginia is a long way and he would have
been
seventy or more in 1908. He has male relatives in Metter, GA., but I
don't
think they have ever done any DNA testing.
We have lots more info on his ancestors.
