Subject: RE: [CHAPMAN] chapman vs. chapmon vs chatman
I am searching for information about James Ira Chatman/Chapman. I
have
him in the 1910 census in Breckinridge Co. in the family of Jeremiah
McGrew who was his mother's second husband. Ira's mother's name is Mary
Elizabeth Potts and her ancestors have been traced, but I have yet to
find a record of the first marriage. Ira was either 10 or 12 in this
census with his birthday being 30 Aug. He was born in Falls O'Rough or
Louisville, Kentucky. I would like to find his exact birth information
and his father's name.
First I didn't know if I should look for Ira James or James Ira. Then
we get the complication of the last name. Ira signed his marriage
document to Violet Ella Tate in Faulkner Co., Arkansas with Ira Chatman.
I really appreciated the first message after I signed on to this list
recently being about the spelling difficulty.
Deborah
