Dear List,
About DNA, you mean that if there are 2 generations of females in between,
submitting my cousin's DNA sample from this 2nd generation will not help us
to
identify which line we come from? I am still trying to get him to cooperate
although the cousin hasn't agreed to yet even though I offered to finance
it.
I follow this list although my line is CHAPLIN and not Chapman thinking the
name may have been changed in my line of descent going back to 1850s.
Thanks for any information concerning this question.

Glynda,
My understanding is that if your male cousin carry's the Chapman/Chaplin
name he will carry the blood line/DNA.
IF he does carry the Chapman/Chaplin name or his biological father did, that
will work out. IF he is of the Chaplin line and there is a DNA study going
on with that surname he will be connected to that!
That's another good point of genealogy DNA testing, it can lead us to other
possible blood lines such as in adoptions etc.
