Hello All,
I posted back in Feb or March but there wasn't much activity on the board. So, since
it has been "woke up" I thought I would try again.
Looking for information on the following Chapman family:
1880 Eighth Murray County, GA. Census
Martin Chapman head 52 yrs born 1828 VA.
Francis wife 35 born 1845 GA. maiden name Frances Waycaster or Francis May
Caster info from Joseph's death cert.
Mary E. daug 13
Joseph son 11 this is my ggrandfather
Rena daug 6
John son 5
Lewis son 3
Selic son 2
All children born in GA.
I also have them in Dade County GA. 1900 and 1910 censuses. I have some info on Martin and
Francis's children but have no leads on Martin and Francis. Martin's name was
supposeably Martin van Buren Capman. His oldest son Joseph (my ggrandfather) named his
oldest son Martin (mart) van Chapman after his father. Some family members have said
Joseph's father was called Mart or Mort.
I know there are so many branches of Chapmans out there, I was hoping someone may have
information about this branch.
Thanks in advance for any help
Sheree
As mentioned some time ago, my Chapman clan came to Canada as U.E L Anglicans from
Vermont and include such names as Gerard (Jared), Orlando, Chester, Olive, Sussanah,
Sarah, Miko, and Isaac.
