Art,
Sorry I have not seen Chapman's in my VT searches named Gerard/Jared, Orlando or
Chester Chapman.
My Hiram Chapman's family (b 1795 Clarendon VT mPolly/Mary Smith b VT) left
Clarendon about 1803 and then Hiram shows up in No Stockholm NY about 1822.
Per census records, their first child Sarah C was born NY 1827, then Lucinda C born
Canada 1833 and then ZenasC born NY again 1838. Don't know where they were in
Canada, or how long they spent there. Wish I knew more though....
Good luck with your search. I will keep your names in mind. The more I research, the
more I find the Chapman's are fairly well documented.
Love your add on--Chapman-wanna-be :-)
Happy digging to you,
Diana

Diana:
Have you ever run into any Chapmans in Vermont with first names of Gerard
(or Jared), Orlando, or Chester? My Gerard was born arounf 1775 and
migrated north to Canada around 1800.
