I found a some information about some other Chapman families and connections
in Quebec. I think they may be connected to my Chapman family but so far I
have no more information. If anyone knows anymore about these families
please let me know. Thanks, Joyce
found on page 79 in the book: "Descendants of Jasper Blake" by Carlton
Blake 3. NANCY6 BLAKE (PAINE5, JEDEDIAH4, ISRAEL3, TIMOTHY2, JASPER1) was
born Abt. 1772 in Sanbornton, NH, USA, and died in Canada. She married JOHN
CHAPMAN, JR. October 8, 1797 in Sanbornton, NH, USA.
Children of NANCY BLAKE and JOHN CHAPMAN are:
i. Huldah7 Chapman, b. 1799, Stanstead, Quebec; m. Thomas J Foye; b.
Gardner, ME, USA.
ii. Christopher Chapman, b. March 1801, Stanstead, Quebec; m. Marcia
Packard. (from LDS site: married 16 Mar 1833 Stanstead, Quebec)
The History of Stanstead County Province of Quebec, by BT Hubbard has
some information about the Hoyts - this is an extract: "Joseph HOYT and
wife settled originally in Grafton NH, where their children were born.
They removed to No 5 16th range of Bolton, now Magog, in 1798.
Apparently his son Amherst HOYT married Sally CHAPMAN (I have been told
Sarah too), I believe it says this in the HOYT family genealogy book. The
book also says that Joseph and his wife were from Sanbornton, NH . This
information was passed on to me, I have not verified.
