Thanks very much for your generous offer. Unfortunately, I have no evidence
to think any of my immediate Chapmans are buried in the two church yards you
give. But thanks anyway. Ed T of PGH

If you believe they are buried in any of the following places let me

and I will check.
I am the restart Pastor of Bethel Church. It is a church started by the
Chapmans. The property has a burial ground for the Chapman family.
I live in Georgetown County and travel to Charleston every month or so.
There is also the prosperity ground which is close to Saluda where Bethel is
located.
Regards,
Neil

Unfortunately, no, I do not know where <<my>> Joseph Chapman is buried. I
suspect, however, that this was in the long-gone City Burial Ground, which I
have been told eventually became a parking lot near the Citadel. One of my
other ancestors - not a Chapman- was buried there, according to the early
Charleston city records.
I am not aware that Joseph was buried in the Chapman family plot in Magnolia
cemetery, where two of his sons are buried, my ancestor, Capt. Samuel
Chapman, and his brother, Capt. Emanuel Perry Chapman, with some of their
families. Nor do I know where the two other children are, Joseph [Jr.] and
Sarah, both of whom died young, nor where Joseph's wife, Jane Fleming
Chapman Porter, is buried. Family tradition says she died in New Orleans, so
I would guess she is there somewhere, if this is true.
Thanks for your messages. Ed T of PGH
