Here is my yearly response to your annual plea. My James Chapman (born
1845) was the son of Chester Chapman born c 1802, near Richmond Ontario, who
in turn was the son of Gerard Chapman, born in Vermont c. 1770). James was
born in Fallowfield, near Richmond, Ontario. Merrickville (about 35 miles
from Richmond) was a prosperous little town on the Rideau River/Canal system
(which was built in the 1830's, joining Kingston on Lake Onario to Ottawa,
Canada's Capital).

eldest son James Alfred Chapman was born Aug, 19 1869 in Merrickville
