Once again back to the CHAPMAN family originally from COUNTY CORK, IRELAND. I am
interested to hear from any descendants but at this time particularly the following.
MICHAEL NASON CHAPMAN Sen. son of WILLIAM CHAPMAN and MARY (NASON), Born Cloyne, Co. Cork
Ireland 13-5-1822, immigrated to Australia and died at Glebe, Sydney, 23-2-1906. Married
CATHERINE SHANNAHAN 11-2-1846 in Sydney. Theur children were MARY JANE B. Sydney
12-2-1848, Ellen B. Sydney 3-10-1849, MARGARET B. Sydney 21-5-1853, WILLIAM B. 1858
Sydney.MICHAEL NASON was an Alderman on the City Council for many years and MAYOR of
Sydney 1871/72. As well he was the Member of Parliament representing Glebe. (MLA)
HENRY MEANEY CHAPMAN. Son of WILLIAM EDWARD CHAPMAN and MARGARET (or BRIDGET MEASNEY),
Born Cloyne, Co. Cork 11-3-1846immigrated to Australia and died at Manly, Sydney
20-8-1930. He ,arried MARY JANE CHAPMAN, his cousin and the daughter of MICHAEL NASON
CHAPMAN Sen. in Sydney 27-101870/ Theur childrem were MICHAEL NASON, B. 13-9-1871,
CHRISTINE (KATE) CHARLOTTE B. 19-5-1876, MARGARET MEANEY B. 14-9-1878, ELLEN BEATRICE B.
28-1-1881, MARY NASON B. 3-5-1883, EFFIE EDITH E, B. 1887 Glebe, Sydney. HENRY MEANEY was
a Major in the Army and also a Member of the NSW Parliament.
