I just did a quick check on the NEHGS vital statistics 1841-1910 and found a death for a
John Chapman, occupation: seaman ,cause of death: fever, age: 32 location: Marblehead,
date: Nov 2 1842. Is this too early are there children later in the marriage? Did they
live somewhere else? there are many John Chapmans in Essex county. I am sure you have
his son's death: Dec 9, 1901. John F Chapman age: 69y 8mo 28 days, cause of death:
mitral disease of the heart, occupation: shoreworker, parents: John Chapman and Lenora
Bowden.
Don't know if this helps.

Subject: [CHAPMAN] John Chapman
I'm looking for any information about John Chapman of Marblehead, MA. He
married Leonora Bowden 9/6/1831 and the Marblehead Vital Records book shows
that his parents were Samuel Chapman Jr and Susanna Swan. However, I can't
for the life of me find his birth date or death date. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.
