Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Michael,
No...I have NOT banned you or anyone else from the list!!
I've repeatedly posted to this list that MSN is varying it's addresses for
it's subscribers.......THAT is the reason that the server (Not Me!) is
removing you from the list.........After a certain threshold of bounces
(created by MSN sending and using addresses different from that which you
subscribed with) it will automatically remove not only you, but
anyone. Your problem is with MSN, not Rootsweb, and certainly not me!
As for my being opinionated, and thinking I'm god, you're dead wrong. My
faith runs very deep.....and I don't even like jokes that are about God and
Heaven. There's only one or two people on this list that have even an
inkling about my religious feelings/opinions. I've never posted anything
to the list in that regard, and never will. It's a personal issue, and
religion has been banned from the list because any posts usually end up in
a battle, and doesn't belong on the list except for instance Quaker Meeting
postings. That is because the Quakers keep wonderful records about their
membership, and it has some genealogical value.
I apologize if you have misunderstood anything I've said. It wasn't meant
to belittle, or put myself above you or anyone else.

Hi Jean,
We have talked before about our Chapman families and like you said, "I
don't think our Chapmans connect at all." I have never
but I did find the Abel you referred to, on my 1820 census for Charlton,
Saratoga Co. NY, along with my Timothy, his wife Sarah and their child,
Henry.
There was some additional information for Abel, which I don't know
what it refers to unless it's a record that is kept at Charlton.
The additional information says, M33-79, page 214.
My Timothy says, M33-79, page 215, ID# for NYS 320228248.
There was no ID# for Abel, but his may be near 320228248.
I'm sure this isn't much help, but it is all I have on Abel Chapman.
Sorry I can't help more.
George in Toledo
I have an email from the descendant of Delilah I believe. Have to get back to
you. Also Ashville has a very active Historical Society I don't know if it
has an email but I do have the address and telephone NO. They are very good
lookin up items and searching for info. I will send that also. Bettye Vann
Knight
Mike, I don't see how you can feel that you have been banned when we
received your request yesterday, and there hasn't been any replies to it
yet. That doesn't mean that it has been banned.
I see absolutely no reason for your outburst and feel that an apology is
due!
Sincerely, Paul Rekow

Apparently you have banned me from the Chapman Rootsweb list. If this is the case, your actions reflect the most childish response I have ever seen to normal human interaction. You act as if the rootsweb list service is your personal toy. Maam, you are just a volunteer monitor, not God. You must be a very unhappy person. I greatly resent the fact that I now cannot continue to use the Chapman list as a research tool, which it is intended to be. You should be ashamed of your actions. You should rise above petty retribution and grow up.
Michael Chapman, Las Vegas, Nevada
(A PROUD Chapman)
Hi, George:
In your research have you ever come across an Abel Chapman? I don't think
our Chapmans connect at all, but Abel, (b 11 Oct 1785 in Westfield Mass)
was said to be in Saratoga in 1839, in his elder brother Zenas' application
for his share of their mother's pension.
I think the following are my Abel:
1820 Census (p 214, L9) Charlton Census has an Abel (who would have been 35
yrs old then), with 2 M under 10, 1 M 26-45, 3 F under 10, 2 F 10-16 and
one F 26-45. He was in manufacturing (with his father, grandfather and
brother all blacksmiths, I think that's what he might have been).
1830 Census (p 138, L?) has Abel in Stillwater with 1 M under 5, 1 M 10-15,
1 M 15020, 1 M 40-50 (Abel being 45), 1 F under 5, 1 F 10-15, 2 F 15-20, 1
F 20-30, 1 F 40-50.
The only other note I've found is that he may be the Abel (the age is
correct) who on 16 July, 1842 was buried in Old Maple Grove Cemetery,
Hoosick, Rensselaer County, at age 57, with a wife Rachael who died at 77,
on 4 April 1863.
If you have anything to offer (or anyone else) I'd greatly appreciate
it! Abel is a collateral, but as I'm trying to get everything on his
father Ezekiel's children (and have all but Abel and the last child,
Ezekiel L.)
TIA, Jean Chapman Snow
saw your posting, do you have any info on Delilah Malinda Chapman and John
Ruben Walker of St Clair Co., AL?

Hi All,
Need help finding the parents/ancestors of my GGGrandfather Timothy
CHAPMAN.
Timothy was born Sept. 26, 1789 in unknown, but lived in Charlton,
Saratoga County, NY. in 1817.
Timothy died in Charlton, Saratoga County on Aug. 29, 1838 and is
buried in the Pine Grove Cemetery there.
Timothy married Sarah HILLER, the girl next door, daughter of Summers
and Betsey (BAILEY) HILLER on Feb. 6, 1817 at the First Presbyterian Church
at Ballston Center, Saratoga County, NY.
Timothy and Sarah had two children:
Summers CHAPMAN: B: Jan. 28, 1818. D: Aug 18, 1818.
Henry PLATT CHAPMAN. B: Feb 28, 1819. D: Oct. 27, 1885 in
Elkhart, Ind.
I have a transcribed copy of a deed when Timothy bought property from
an Israel and Sarah CHAPMAN on June 11, 1817, in Charlton, Saratoga County,
NY.
I believe that Israel's wife's maiden name was BARKER.
I also believe that Israel first wife's maiden name was PLATT.
A Benjamin CHAPMAN, previously owned property next to the property
that Timothy bought.
Benjamin and Israel CHAPMAN both resided in Charlton, Saratoga County,
NY. in 1817.
I am trying to establish the relationship of Israel and Benjamin
CHAPMAN to Timothy.
Sarah (Hiller) CHAPMAN and her son, Henry Platt CHAPMAN, migrated to
Elkhart Indiana with the her HILLER family after Timothy's death.
Any help would be appreciated.

This is the third time I've gotten this message. You are NOT
broken.

Folks,
I've about done all I can and/or will do in this situation. MSN is STILL
bouncing mail right and left, with no end in sight. Please do NOT send to
the list about this. Neither Rootsweb, and/or I can do a blamed thing
about it. You need to contact them.
If you have been removed from any list, including the Chapman-L and you
haven't initiated the removal yourself, most likely it is the fault of MSN
and you need to resolve the problem with them.
I've had over a have dozen addresses on the subscriber list consistently
bounce for the last month. I've contacted these people, explained the
problem, and have seen no improvement. The ISP needs to be
contacted.....the are putting the address as:
username(a)hotmail.msn.com
rather than the correct:
username(a)msn.com
This makes a tremendous difference for the Rootsweb server, or any other
server that tries to look for the @hotmail.msn.com domain. It won't be
there, and therefore creates a problem of the email bouncing. If a private
message is sent to the @hotmail.msn.com it will bounce at the msn end,
because of the subscriber being listed as @msn.com........so the sender
will receive a bounce from msn.
In short, msn is at fault, and no one else can "fix" the problem. This has
been an ongoing sporadic problem with them since they took over
hotmail. Am beginning to believe that their technicians don't have a front
sidewalk that goes clear to the front porch!
Please, please, don't contact me, the list, or Rootsweb. Contact
msn. It's a problem at their end!
Thanks
Mari

Been having trouble with my MSN firewall, tossing out WANTED messages. Just
checking to see if I got it fixed. Wouldn't want to miss ANY Chapman list
missives.
