Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Barry if you are flying into Kansas City you can access the LDS film you
want right there. There is a big LDS family History center in Independence
which is 25 minutes from the airport. You can even contact them ahead of
time & they can have any films you want right ther for a nominal fee. There
is also a branch of the National Archives library right here in Kansas City
which is a big bonus. It has information on all military records back to
the American Revolution, census records etc. And there is a really great
genealogy library in Independence just 5 minutes from the LDS library. They
have a web site; I can give you the web address for if you think you might
want to go there. You will still want to go on to the counties where your
ancestors lived but might want to plan to stop at these great libraries.
Also if you are going to be researching in the ST. Louis area the National
Geneolgy society's books & data have all been relocated to the library
there. I can give you some sites that would tell you times location etc.
You can contact me through the list or at my email address:

Hi Mari,
Thanks for your response & helpful suggestions. I'm flying into Kansas City

Although I want to retain maximum flexibility, would it be advisable to contact County Clerk's offices & libraries in advance re access to their records? For example, are times of access to genealogical & Vital Records restricted to certain days and/or hours.
I am a total novice at on site family research so all advice offered would be most appreciated.

I'm interested in your William Earl Chapman.
My G-grandmother, Elizabeth Chapman, was born 1839 to Wm. E. Chapman
and Elizabeth Goldey or Golden in Philadelphia PA. This information is from
the death certificate for Elizabeth Chapman Emery issued in January 1919.
My Wm. E. Chapman was probably born in Delaware.
Can my Wm. E. Chapman be your William Earl Chapman?
What information do you have regarding him?
Ed Emery, Horsham PA
I may not have all the data you are looking for but I do
know Ed Chapman married Mary Symonds and that she died
10-6-1658. Their children were; Simon, Nathaniel, Mary,
Samuel, and John. John married Martha Perley and they
had a son Nathaniel (b. 1746)who married Elizabeth
Simonds (she was one of nine)(m.8-9-1769). Nathaniel and
Elizabeth soon had Elizabeth b.11-18-1770 then Johnnie
Appleseed b.9-26-1774. I don't have any info. on a
second marriage for Ed Chapman. Hope this helps.

Hi All, The fee schedule for registering for the 2nd Annual CFA Convention

set. We hope to have the Registration Form available on the CFA website
within the next few days.
Please go to the CFA website at:
http://www.chapmanfamilies.org/
and check out the information on convention page. There is information
there on which hotel the Convention is being held at, a tentative schedule
of events, and things to do to prepare for going to Salt Lake. The
registration form will be available soon that you can print out, fill out

other conventions happening in Salt Lake City the same weekend.
If you want a copy of the registration form even earlier, e-mail be

I am descended from Joseph Chapman, born about 1790, who married Nancy Irby on Dec.4, 1811 at Halifax Co. VA and died in Russell Co. KY in 1852.
Would like to know whether Joseph was the son of Moses and Sally Tuck Chapman, who married on Dec.23, 1789 at Halifax Co. Possible siblings of Moses are John, who married Lucy Williams on Jan.24, 1791; Drusilla who married Richard East on Nov.6,
1789 and William, who married Lucy Tuck on May 9, 1796.
Does anyone know of a connection between these Chapman individuals?

Barry,
Do you have that Joseph had a son named Enoch? I am trying to find out if
this is my family. I beleive that Enoch had a son John Chapman who maried
Elizabeth Eichelberger. This is what I have but don't know if it is true:
Joseph Chapman born about 1745 Halifax County, VA
Enoch Chapman (son of Joseph)
John Chapman (son of Enoch) born about 1790
Enoch "Tobe" Chapman born 1813 or 1815 (son of John)
Joseph Chapman born 1844 (son of Enoch "Tobe" )
Any ideal? I just don't think that John could be the son of Enoch as I think
they births maybe be too close together. Cound my John be the son of Joseph
instead?
Any help would be appreciated.

Searching for info on an Edward CHAPMAN, born 1860 or 1870, probably in
state of Ohio, died ca 1898 in Wheeling, WV. His parents were James W.
CHAPMAN and Emma MACE CHAPMAN. Sisters were Allie, Martha, Annie.
Half-sister was Iciphine/Icie & half-brother was Harvey. Others were
half-brothers William Clyde, Harry, Wilbert Paul; half-sisters Mabel and
Fannie. Edward's parents moved their young family to the Pittsburgh area
from Washington County, Ohio about 1871. This is my father's
half-brother. My grandfather married four times, and Edward is from the
first marriage. With the exception of one half-sister, all my father's
siblings from those first marriages are virtually unknown. Any
assistance would be GREATLY appreciated. Pat Pulasky
Kay, thanks much for those details. I'll follow them up.
The information I've provided unfortunately is all that I have. It was taken
from the death certificate of my G-grandmother, Elizabeth(Lib) Chapman. She
was born and died in Philadelphia (b.1839; d.1919). She married John Emery.
Details of Lib's parents, Wm. E. Chapman and Elizabeth Goldey or Golden, have
so far been elusive. I had always thought that Wm. E. represented William
Edward. But since then I saw a reference to William Earl Chapman, born
8/10/1852. Maybe he's my guy! I'll keep looking.
Thanks for your help.
