Kathy,
Not quite sure if we can connect, it just might be a coincidence that my
Chapman's are also from Genesee Co., NY, then onto WI and into MN. I have
too many holes and couldn't find any names in common, so I'll give you my
info, maybe you will someone you know.
Gilbert Eberherd Chapman b. ab 1820, place unknown, m. date unknown to
Marge? They had at least one son, there may have been more children, I just
don't have that. Their son's name was David Eugene Chapman b. date unknown
in Genesee Co., NY he married Alice Jane Aldrich in Twn Vienna, Dane Co., WI
on 10/27/1874, he died on 07/09/1936 in New Richmond, WI
David & Alice were the parents of Charles Richard Chapman b. 11/11/1878 in
Plainsfield, WI, m. 10/07/1903 in St. Croix Co., WI to Emma Delia Hanson.
He died on 8/12/1959 in Rush City, MN.
So maybe you can find something.

I've been following the Chapman list for months now, and haven't seen any familiar connections, so I thought I'd toss in my line and see if I get any bites. My line runs:

Benjamin Chapman, 1877 - 1930, born and died Braymer, Mo. Married Ealy Ann Taylor.

Has anyone connected the early CT Chapmans to any Chapmans in PA, especially
Philadelphia? I'm still stuck on William Chapman, ca. 1800-1887. Kay

Hi everyone,
I've been reading about Wisconsin Chapmans, and unfortunately, I haven't
recognized anyone. I'm related to JOHN C. CHAPMAN who was born November 22,
1824 in Genesee Co. NY, and died October 04, 1909 in Becker Co., MN. He
married MARGARET ELIZABETH GLENDENNING October 20, 1856 in Fond Du Lac Co.,
WI, daughter of WILLIAM GLENDENNING and CATHERINE GRAHAM. She was born
June 08, 1834 in Bovina Twp., Delaware Co. NY, and died May 09, 1903 in
Becker Co., MN.
They lived in the Town of Alto (WI) for about 20 years.
Their children were:
MaryAnn, William, Bertha "Della", Grant, Katherine (my great grandmother),
Effie Bell and Owen Eugene "Gene". They were all born in Fond du Lac Co.,
WI, except for Gene. He was born in Dickinson Co. Iowa.
I can't find John C. in any census prior to 1860. He is my "brick wall". I
can't find any information about his ancestors. Information that he came
from Genesee Co. NY came from family lore backed up with census records and
information on his death record. In the Becker County Museum (MN) there is
an exhibit containing a polished oak bedframe that was donated by his
daughter Della. The card says that John C. brought that bed with him when
he came from New York to Wisconsin. His picture hangs on a wall in the
museum too.
Does anyone have any additional information?
Thanks!
Kathy
Carol,
Are you tracing the Nathaniel Chapman born 1742 in Providence RI, parents Stephen
and Zerviah Sanger Chapman? If so, I am descended from Nathaniel's brother William
Chapman.

My 3g-grandmother Charlotte Chapman m. Benjamin F. Durham. Although my
gg-grandfather (Worth Jasper, b.31 May 1850) and his two younger sisters
(Eliza and _?_) were born in the Lockport, [county unknown], PA area, the
family later became a staple of the community in Ripon and Black River

So.... Anyone heard of my Charlotte?

My great grandmother was born in Mackford, Greenlake, Wisconsin on 4 Feb 1862. I
am not sure why they were there. Her parents were married in Minnesota in 1860,
then she was born in 1862 and a brother in 1864. Another brother was born in
Minnesota, then two in Iowa. I have no idea why they were in Wisconsin, but when
I was originally trying to look for them there, there were a lot of Chapmans in
this area.
Also, if I can make a conncection to another, it would point to an aunt of this g
grandmother being in Wisconsin in 1892.

I am trying to shake the memory webs in my moms head but nothing other then
what I posted. I am going to check into some census images in the hopes that
Wisconsin has one for 1850-1860-1870-1880 looking for them. I will post what
I find.

I have some new infotmaion on my grandfather Leroy Wesley Chapman who was
born in Idaho.
John Chapman b. in Wisconsin m. ?
Leroy Welsey Chapman b, 12-27-1887 Idaho d. 11-11-1957 Idaho m.
JennyBelle (Genevieve) Henry b. 4-23-1887 Montana, or Oregon d. 11-3-1965
