I wish I had a Benjamin Washington CHAPMAN, then maybe my problems would be
solved. I have a GGrandfather Asberry Benjamin CHAPMAN born in 1828 in TN.
But I will keep you in mind.
Colleen
Just a thought....have you tried connecting them to the Chapman's that were
over in AL by way of SC about this same time?

While on the lookout for your William Chapman and wife Mary.. watch out for
mine! William Chapman was maried to Mary Smith Bond. They lived in
Williamson Co TN. I am from their son Benjamin Washington Chapman, b oct 15
1835.
Sometimes keeping a file on the same-name/not-mine people is helpful.

Just wondering....what is the name Polly a nickname for? I have a Polly
and Job Decker's son who is later living with Mary Elizabeth Chapman b.
1859 m. Guss Williams (Reynolds Co., MO) daughter of my g-g-g grandfather
Thomas Chapman b. 1823 TN.
Thanks

I don't know, but I am in the middle of a family which seems to have
Mary/Polly sort of interchangeable. I know one lady's name was Mary,
but Vermont is telling me it is Polly on the marriage record.

I have 3 of Mary A. Chapman's children buried in the same lot in Mt. Hope
Cemetery in Mattapan , Massachusetts.
I would give any thing to be able to put flowers with a note on their grave,
but sence I live 5000 miles away it is a little difficult to do.

I can give you another Mary A. Chapman, born 1833, some where in Nova
Scotia, Canada.
Has any one ever run across her?

Me?? Uh...nope. It's a three hour drive from home, and an hour and a half
from my folks, which
is where we were staying at the time. Mine were the first flowers, but it
was in the middle of
the afternoon. <g>

If any of you have ever had a lawn service they leave little plastic stakes
made to hold a card indicating the service was provided that date. I save
these & leave them in the ground with my name & address etc. near the
headstone. These are less likely to blow away.
Reminds me of an incident that happened to me. Several years ago when I
visited my mother's grave in southern Missouri, someone had put flowers on
it. This surprised me, since our family is all long gone from that part of
the country, so I left a note in a plastic bag asking to hear from the
person, and left it on the headstone, weighted down. Unfortunately, I never
found out.

You could also place a small rock or large pebble in the ziplock bag to
weight it down.
