I just received some paperwork on Isaac in the mail, courtesy of Gary Sacre,
and thought I'd post some of it here. I won't retype the entire article
regarding his death, but will extract names of survivors from it:

Looking for any information on John W Chapman born around 1803 in Nobleboro
Maine. He married Sarah E Glidden who was reportedly born around 1804 in
Nobleboro Maine. They had a son Isaac Emery Chapman born 24 January 1834
in Nobleboro Maine. I received a reply to an earlier post on John saying
there was a John who married a Eunice Glidden. Perhaps this is the right
John since Sarah's middle initial is E. Isaac married in Iowa so I think
it likely the family moved from Nobleboro at some point. My Mom is a
Chapman.
She is 84 & in failing health. She enjoys my interest in genealogy & we
have had some good times discussing what I have found about the other side
of her family. I would love to be able to share some Chapman discoveries
with her as well. I am hoping someone on this list will know of these
Chapman's. Kathy

Hi again folks!!
I'm getting closer and closer to finding my James Chapman's father. James
Thurston Chapman has now been found as far back as the 1870 census in
Montgomery County, TN.
What I'm looking for is a Chapman male that married a Sarah (b. 1830 in GA).
I'm going to guess that he may have been born in GA and then they migrated
to TN. They may have had more children than what is listed because in the
1870 census the oldest one at home was an 18 year old female. The youngest
child at home was 7 yrs so that makes me thinks that Mr. Chapman died
between 1863 and 1870 and probably in Montgomery County, TN.
Does this family ring any bells for any one?

Awhile back I obtained the Vital Records for Portland,CT from the local
Family History Center. It's their microfilm number 1378375.
Below are the birth, marriages, and death for the Chapman's listed. You
will note that in some instances the same person's name is spelled
differently. It is not a typo on my part, but the way they were
recorded. I did not add Chapman as the last name of the individuals
being reported on. I hope this can help someone.

My husband's great, great grandmother was Abigail (Chapman) Clayton,
daughter of David and Achsa (Abott) Chapman. David later married an
Addiline, who is listed as 41 years of age in the 1880 Lorain County,
Ohio Census, and it states her place of birth as Ohio and her parents
were born in New York. David and Addiline had the following children:
Killie A. aged 9 in 1880 born in Michigan, Hattie M aged 7 years of age
in 1880, also born in Michigan and I think she died unmarried in Lorain
County, Ohio on 12/29/1914, as I found her name among the Lorain County
Death's online. The last child is David E. Chapman aged 2 in 1880 and
born in Ohio. Achsa (Abbott) Chapman died in Oberlin, Ohio and is buried
in Westwood Cemetery in Oberlin, Ohio. David's daughter Abigail was born
in 1850 in Elgin, Il. This family didn't stay put. Any help will be
greatly appreciated!
Mrs. Barb Clayton
