I have several Samuel Chapmans in TN, but neither the right age/time.
First I have Samuel CHAPMAN b. c1750 & d. 1811 Smith Co., TN He was married
to Rachel who survived him. He had 7 known children, but not a Samuel. He
did have a grandson named Samuel . He was b. c1818, the first child of
Benjamin CHAPMAN. Benjamin was b. 1791 & d. 1860 Washington Co., IL. & had
6 other children besides Samuel. Samuel b. c1818 Wilson Co., TN was last
found on the 1850 IL census. I don't have his children but he married
Elizabeth Roundtree.

Looking for information on either of the Amasa Chapman's who are listed on
the 1810 census of Onondaga Co. NY.
In particular - Are they connected?
Is either of them connected to the family that was in Marcellus in the
1830's, when Lydia Chapman m. Simeon Thornton.
Is either of them the Amasa Chapman who married Lydia Hunt and whose son
removed to Jackson Co. MI in 1837.
The eldest is John Chapman m to Malinda Boyd
Their children were Sherman, Frank, Ella, Ida, Margaret and John Wesley
Chapman.
John Wesley Chapman was born 3-16-1859m married in 1883 to Mary Josephine
StLouis of Green Bay Wisconsin, who was raised in an orphanage there. She
died 8-12-1907;
Their children were Carrie b 1883; Edith Lillian b 1884; Mable Josephine
"Ollie" b Nov 1884; Lula Marinda b 1887; Ida Esther b 1890; John Underwood b
1891; Charles Wesley b 9-4-92; Maude Louella b 1894; Edna Pearl b 8-13-01;
Margaret Beulah "Hazel" b 3-31-05; Leonard Arthur b 1907.
Edna Pearl was my grandmother and I have details on her after she married
Vern William Drake.
Any connections?

I am trying to find information on Opal Chapman, who was married to Thomas
L. Norton. She lived in Galien Michigan and died in 1934 from a fever. She
had twin sons of which one survived to adult. I have no information on
where she came from, parents, birth or family. The Norton's came from
Hammond Indiana are so that may be a possibility for her.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I am looking for information on SAMUEL CHAPMAN who married NANCY
CHRISTIAN. According to their daughter Rebecca's death record they were
both born in Tn. They were living in Lawrence Co., In in the 1840
census, next to THOMAS CHRISTIAN. They had 1 male under 5, 1 male 5-9,
1 male 30-39, 1 female 0-4, 1 female 5-9, 2 females 10-14 and 1 female
30-39. I found a Samuel Chapman in the 1830 East Ten. in Monroe Co.
that could be this family.
Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, folks, my eyes seem to be glazing over from too many hours at the

MI Death Records has now an online database of abt 81,540 people, which will
be enlarged as volunteers continue to enter records. This site may hold a
lot of info: death date, Ledger page, record number, place & county of
death, marital status, age, cause of death, birthplace, occupation, and
more. For those with web access go to
http://www.mdch.state.mi.us.PHA/OSR/gendis/index.htm
I found a list of 73 Chapmans. Harold Helm asked me to post each one
individually, so as time allows, I'll post name, death date, father's last
name and county of death, the info on the first screen. The additional info
is accessed by clicking on the name, and sorry, I do not have time to
download and post all those details. Jean Chapman Snow

This is an excellent site! I can't get away from it as I've found so much.
You can print out actual copies of your relatives land deeds from the
government. You can search by name or once you find out what twp/sec. your
relative lived in you can search & see his neighbors! Check it out!!!

I am looking for information about John H. Chapman, born abt 1856 in WV. His mother's name was Mary and she was born in Brooke Co., WV, his father's name unknown, but later Census records for John indicated that his father was born in OH. I found John and his mother living with the brother -in-law of my great-great grandfather, David Troup, on the 1860 Census for Hancock Co., WV. John's mother married David Troup in 1862 in Hancock Co., WV. They later moved to Columbiana Co., OH. John H. Chapman married Mary E. Deuel on 12 January 1878. Any information about John and his mother would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time - Bridget Ordich

I'm looking for any information about John Chapamn born in Exeter New
Hampshire in 1783( date from History of Macomb County Michigan) or 1793(
date from 1850 Macomb County census). Macomb Co. histories lists him as
being born in 1783 and then moving to Maine with him father in 1790.
Then it lists him as going to New York after he finished school and
Marrying Jane Drake 1815 in Ontario Co. New York. They had three
children there, Mary Jane born Jan 9, 1820, John Chauncy born Feb. 21,
1821 and Amy Ann born Aug. 21, 1822, before moving to Shelby Twp, Macomb
County, Michigan in 1825. There they had two more children Joseph Miller
born Nov. 13, 1826 and henry Clay born Feb. 3, 1832. My grandmother has
told me that John is possible related to Johnny Appleseed Chapman, but I
can make the connection. I'm looking for the names of his parents then
possible I can connect him to this line of Chapmans.
