Hi, I seen your Skidmore, Friend, Fields, Persinger, and Caldwell surnames here and thought we might check to see if we have a link as I have all these names in our family! Be glad to share if we do! Nancy
Does anyone know what happened to Elisha b ca 1808 son of Elisha Chapman
b ca 1750 and wife Phebe (Gates) of New Haven CT? Any help
appreciated, Loanne.
Hi Sandi,
This is Butch Johnson. I saw your posting about Abner, and I noticed the
birthdates for Abner, William and John. I have seen these dates before, they
are about 20 years later than the ones that I have. I got mine from the LDS
folks. I have John b. 1760, William b. 1762 and Abner b. 1764.
Let's take William. The date that you have for his birth is the one that I
have for his marriage (27 July 1787 Montgomery Co., VA with Garland Burgess
surety). Further, I have his children starting at 1788 (Jemima). These dates
seem to be supported by later census records.

My Abner is the same one that Butch has, see his note
In response to Annie's replies on Nov. 22, 1998, the date of Hepsibah's
death should have been January 28, 1813. Sorry for the typo.
The missing child of Nathaniel and Hepsibah is Porter, b. June 6, 1797.
Thanks for finding my omission.

Thanks everyone for your help on Abner CHAPMAN. If anyone else has any
information, or possible resource reccomendations, please feel free to chime
in.
Sandra, I don't think your Abner ties in to this line, but the information

Kelly,
All I know of Abner Chapman is that he was born on July 16,1783, that he
had four children and lived in Gallipolis, Ohio as an adult. Unfortunately, I
can't find the source for this, but it may give you a start in the right
direction.

Hellooooo....
Someone has just brought up an interesting point. They mentioned that we
wouldn't want *all* of the Chapman-L subscribers to submit to be listed on
the Researcher page.
I must admit to fears of being inundated by requests....however, we'll add
those who want to be added. We may have to do some rearranging later,
depending on how it goes, and place those with web pages separate from
those without. Which, brings up another point. It doesn't matter if you
don't have a web page. In fact, it would be great to
submit....teehee.....Lewis or I will do the work, and you can reap the
rewards for having yourself listed! <g> For those that don't have a web
site, we are just listing the same information, lacking the URL, of course.
For those who have submitted, please remember that if your data ends up
reaching back further than the patriarch you've listed, you'll need to contact
me for updating.
Something we're really needing at present, also is resources. I've listed
some that I've gathered in my files, but would like to have some from you.
YOU are the Chapman-L, and I'd like to have the site reflect that as much
as possible.
If I've forgotten anything, let me know.
Mari
Does anyone recognize the John Chapman who married Mary Carew on
March 6, 1801 in Charleston? Does he connect with Joseph Chapman who
married Jane Fleming about the same year in Charleston?
Thanks for any help any one can offer. Ed T of PGH

Seems to be one child missing. Also, William is shown dying before his first
child is born.
