Chapman List:
I am researching the following Chapman. What follows is a family group
record of the only Chapman in my ancestry. Family tradition says that
Maria is a cousin of Johnny Appleseed, but I have disproved other family
traditions so it may not be true.

My daughter-in-law descends from Edward Chapman and Mary Symonds.
What I have so far is that Edward was born in Whitby, Yorkshire, England and
died 18-Apr-1678 in Ipswich, Essex, MA.
Edward and Mary were married Mar-1642 in Rawley, Essex, MA.
Mary Symonds was the daughter of Mark Symonds and Joanna (?) and died
10-Jun-1658 in Ipswich, Essex, MA.
Edward and Mary had 5 children, Simon, Nathaniel, Mary, Samuel and John.
Edward had a second wife Dorothy Swain
I would like to find out more about Edward's ancestors. All I have is his
father was Robert Chapman and that is all I know about Robert.
If anyone has any information or hints as to where to look I would appreciate
it.
Don
