Hi,
I am researching some CHAPMAN's in Lincolnshire and Lancashire, England. I
am looking for relatives of this family:
William Chapman was born about February 1823 in Apley, Lincolnshire to John
CHAPMAN and his wife Mary (believed to be Mary BONNER).
William married Hannah BRADLEY around 1843. They had the following known
children:
Charles CHAPMAN (1844 - 1933) lived in Sotby, Apley, and Wragby in
Lincolnshire before he immigrated to America and married Elizabeth CUPIT of
Lincolnshire.
Mary CHAPMAN (1846-1846)
John CHAPMAN was baptized in 1847 in Apley, Lincolnshire.
Sarah Ann CHAPMAN was baptized in 1849 in Apley, Lincolnshire. She married
Henry OTTER (also seen as ATTER) and lived in Wragby, Wickenby, Holton,
Legsby, and Kirkby Cum Osgodby.
Joseph CHAPMAN was baptized in 1851 in Apley, Lincolnshire. He also lived
in Spridlington, Lincolnshire before immigrating to America where he married
Hattie BLYTHE.
William CHAPMAN was christened in 1854 in Apley, Lincolnshire. He lived in
Baumber, Lincolnshire before became a butcher in Manchester, Lancashire. He
was married to Julia (believed to be Julia BERRY) and Mary.
Jemima CHAPMAN was christened in 1856, in Apley, Lincolnshire. She was a
servant in Saxelby, Lincolnshire and married John HARRIS. The couple lived
in Manchester and Blackpool, Lancashire.
Betsy Bonner CHAPMAN was baptized in 1858 in Apley, Lincolnshire. She
worked in Welton and Lincoln, Lincolnshire and may have lived in Yorkshire.
Hannah Maria CHAPMAN was baptized in 1860 in Apley, Lincolnshire. She lived
in Legsby, Lincolnshire and Manchester, Lancashire. Family lore says she
immigrated to Canada and died there as a spinster.
Dennis CHAPMAN was christened in 1862, in Apley, Lincolnshire. He became a
butcher in Manchester, Lancashire. I think he married there around 1886 to
Priscilla BERRY (believed to be a younger sister of Julia BERRY).
Tom CHAPMAN (1866 - 1957) lived in Apley and Welton, Lincolnshire before
immigrating to Canada. He married Annie LASCELLES.
If you are researching any of these families, please contact me! Thank you!
