Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

I am looking for information and trace-back on Nathaniel Robert Chapman,
born c 1823 in Dorset.
1851 Census Coursing, Hawkechurch, Dorset. RG9/1371, En 8, Folio 108, p 18.
Nat. Rrobert Chapman was 30, farmer of 99 acres, living in Coursing,
Hawkechurch, born Dorset.
Wife Emma D aged 23 and family - Laura D aged 3, Alice A D 1, Robert D 8
months. Also Motherin-Law, Johanna Dommett, widow, aged 53, retired Land
lady, born Axminster. Devon.
Another son, Alexander Emanuel Dommett Chapman was born on 8 DEC 1864 at
Axminster.
This family migrated to Victoria c 1868 and lived in Kilmore Victoria and
had 5 more children there.
Has anyone seen the baptism of Nathaniel Robert Chapman c 1823 in somewhere
in Dorset?

I have Chapman forbears in both UK maternal & US paternal lines who served
with their countries military:-
USA - great grandfather, John David Chapman born 1847, Daviess Co, MO (son
of David T. Chapman, born Halifax Co, VA) served with F Coy, 43rd Missouri
Volunteer Infantry, Union Army, died 1926, Atchison Co, KS. His brother,
George Washington Chapman, served with E Coy, 23rd Missouri Volunteer
Infantry, Union Army, was wounded & captured at the Battle of Shiloh.
Grandfather Dudley Edward Chapman served with the 22nd Kansas Volunteers
during the Spanish-American War. Father James Alfred Chapman served with 1st
SAD, 8th Air Force in WWII.
UK - grandfather Norman Garside Chapman served with the Royal Engineers in
France during WWI - wounded, gassed & invalided out of the Army in 1918.
I served in the UK Royal Air Force from 1959 to 1965.

PS - looking for descendants of John & Ellen (nee Binning) Chapman,
Manchester/Cheetham/Ashton under Lyne/Salford areas from 1885 to 1930 or
later. If you're a Chapman descendant with a family oral history that

Freylinghuysen Chapman at Marrietta.
His grandfather Benjamin Chapman fought in the Revolutionary War.( my 3 ggfa)
in the place of his brother James.
My Uncle, Benjamin Irvin Chapman was in WWII. He would be a great grandson
of the BW above and would be 2great grandson of the one in the Rev. War...
His son , Benjamin Irvin Chapman Jr served in teh navy in the 1950's, and
thankfully is still alive.
