Subject: MACNAGTEN-CHAPMAN descendants
Always hoping to find cousins who would have an Alfred CHAPMAN in their tree. Alfred married Caroline MACNAGHTEN
and they had sons ... William Henry Hay CHAPMAN (my ancestor) and :
Alfred Daniel CHAPMAN d. 1902
Francis Steuart CHAPMAN d. 1887
Edmund Henry CHAPMAN d. 1874
Any descendants of these men out there?
Happy New Year to all CHAPMANS from Barbara on Maui
Hi Trevor
Sorry, I can't help.
My Chapmans originate in the City of London and I can't find any connection
with Grimsby.
Good luck with your research.
Best wishes

Happy Holidays, everyone. I moved a few weeks ago and only just got
re-connected and saw the recent posts. It's nice to have people pop their heads
in now and again to post details, so I thought I'd put mine up once more...
Looking for Thomas CHAPMAN, b. BUCKS about 1777
He and a Mary ___? of Hambleden began having children in Medmenham, Bucks in
1817. Since they were both about 40 years old at the time I wonder if they
might have had more children elsewhere? I'd be especially curious if their
marriage or banns appeared in any of the Hambleden churches. (I haven't had a
chance to order the films yet through my local FHL.)
If anyone's connected, please give a holler. Thomas and Mary were my 4th
great-grandparents. The descent:
RICHARD CHAPMAN
b. Medmenham, 1817 m. Sophia MEADS of Medmenham
WILLIAM CHAPMAN
b. Medmenham, 1842 m. Elizabeth PYE of Old Windsor
ERNEST JOHN WILLIAM CHAPMAN
b. Clewer, 1876, m. Charlotte Harriet HALL of Old Windsor
IVY MAY CHAPMAN
b. St. Ives, CON, 1904, m. John Edward Francis GIBNEY
(my grandparents)
Best wishes to everyone at this time of year, and best of luck breaking down
those brick walls in the New Year.

I am researching a Chapman family that emigrated to
America from Ireland in the late 1730s or early 1740s.
It's not known when the family had migrated to
Ireland.
There were two sons and a daughter, adult children of
a Thomas Chapman.(According to family records there
were more children than the three, but no other names
are known). The sons were George and William. The
daughter was Lucy who married a James Lemen.
