Hi
I am new to this mailing list, but not to mailing lists in
general. I have traced my Chapman family back to a Robert
Chapman who married Mary Piper in 1803 in Withersfield,
Suffolk. I have not yet found his date or place of birth
(possibly also Withersfield). I am descended from their son
William. My line moves to Steeple Bumpstead (Essex) by the
1841 Census, Wood Ditton (Cambs) by 1851 before moving back
to Essex (Littlebury - 1874ish and Saffron Walden - 1878ish)
.
My ggfather was Frederick Chapman who was born in 1868 in
Wood Ditton and my gfather was Frederick John Chapman who
was born in South Norwood, Croydon in 1888.
This is only a 'thumbnail' sketch, but if it rings bells with
anyone, I'd love to swap notes.
Jan Paton (nee Chapman)
I have no idea if this will help anyone, but someone once collected for me all
the CHAPMANs out of the Wallasey, Cheshire Directory of 1925/6.
They are:
Alfred Chapman, 13 Vincent Street
Thomas & Anna Chapman, 3 Brotherton Street
Betsy Chapman , 186 - 188 Brighton Street
Charles Chapman, 4 Ripon Road
Emma Chapman, 4 Dinmore Road
Frances Lilian Chapman, 24 Elleray Park Road
Henry & Fanny Ann Chapman, 9 Albion Street
Henry Andrew & Daisy May Chapman, 1 Glen Park Road
John Goldie Chapman, 69 Wellington Road
Margaret Annie Chapman, 13 St. Vincent Road
Margaret Ann Chapman, 46 Church Street
May Elizabeth Chapman, 42 Durban Road
Thomas Chapman, 30 King Street
Walter Stephen Chapman, 18 Elleray Park Road
William Edward & Alice Chapman, 30 Malvern Road
I hope this helps someone!
Robyn

Mari, I believe you are the List Admin. so I address my question to you for
off list consideration by you. Is this a genealogy/family history list
linked to Chapmans originating from the UK or is it somewhere we may
advertise our non genealogical interests, preferences and personal
relationship(s)?
Barry Chapman,
Australia.

Hello All!
We have sold our condo after six months of trying...we have now gone
from being "condo queens" to being DOUBLE WIDE DIVAS ( no ref. to Rich's
need to lose weight ). So now we live in SHADY LANE OAKS MHP. It reminds
Rich of Bay City...very shaded by large live oak trees...55 + only...we have
a lot in the non-pet section, but with Doug's Doctor's letter about our two
cats that was never a problem.
We both took our vacation days from work to accomplish the Closing &
move ...and it was very trying for both of us!!! The buyers did not speak
English, had an A-hole for a friend-Real estate agent, and harrassed us no
end...!!!
But we are sleeping well now, have a bit of money in the bank to catch
up on bills...Rich's Saturn is in for a new transmission...$$$...and the
cats are adjusting to a new set of outside intruders going by the lanai.
So here is our new address:
Messrs. Richard P Hughes and Douglas A. Nederveld
15777 Bolesta Rd. # 247
Clearwater, FL 33760
Same ZIP..Same phone # 727-531-7851...same E mail address...
Keep in touch...Love Yas all...
