BUCKS is what?? Bucks Co PA??
I have a Philip Chapman who came from London c 1745 who was a wool trader,
carder, etc.. and lived in Bucks Co PA and Hunterdon Co PA ( across the river
from one another) from 1745-1777 when I have been told he died. He had sons
James in 1747 and Benjamin in 1765 and 3 girls in between.
He had a sister and 2 brothers in London and one very well might have come to
US with him or earlier/later.
Can you stay in touch and let me know if you find ANY connection?? Please.
Catherine
Happy Holidays, everyone. I moved a few weeks ago and only just got
re-connected and saw the recent posts. It's nice to have people pop their heads
in now and again to post details, so I thought I'd put mine up once more...
Looking for Thomas CHAPMAN, b. BUCKS about 1777
He and a Mary ___? of Hambleden began having children in Medmenham, Bucks in
1817. Since they were both about 40 years old at the time I wonder if they
might have had more children elsewhere? I'd be especially curious if their
marriage or banns appeared in any of the Hambleden churches. (I haven't had a
chance to order the films yet through my local FHL.)
If anyone's connected, please give a holler. Thomas and Mary were my 4th
great-grandparents. The descent:
RICHARD CHAPMAN
b. Medmenham, 1817 m. Sophia MEADS of Medmenham
WILLIAM CHAPMAN
b. Medmenham, 1842 m. Elizabeth PYE of Old Windsor
ERNEST JOHN WILLIAM CHAPMAN
b. Clewer, 1876, m. Charlotte Harriet HALL of Old Windsor
IVY MAY CHAPMAN
b. St. Ives, CON, 1904, m. John Edward Francis GIBNEY
(my grandparents)
Best wishes to everyone at this time of year, and best of luck breaking down
those brick walls in the New Year.

I am researching a Chapman family that emigrated to
America from Ireland in the late 1730s or early 1740s.
It's not known when the family had migrated to
Ireland.
There were two sons and a daughter, adult children of
a Thomas Chapman.(According to family records there
were more children than the three, but no other names
are known). The sons were George and William. The
daughter was Lucy who married a James Lemen.

Hello,
Many of my Yorkshire CHAPMANS of the 18th century were living in London
by the 1800s. Here are some of the names on my tree from the Whitby area in
the
1700s..........
William CHAPMAN (d.) 1720 married to Mary TEMPLE (d.) 1739
and later to
Elinor SMALLWOOD (b.)1679
with sons: Ingram, Solomon, Isaiah, Abel, Aaron and Benjamin
with marriages to: LINSKILL, GASKIN, VASEY, RICHARDSON and STORM
and siblings: Mary CHAPMAN, Margaret CHAPMAN, Jane CHAPMAN
Ingram CHAPMAN, Robert CHAPMAN
Any of these names showing up on your "trees"? I have more data on these but
little on their offspring except for my direct line through Abel.
Barbara on Maui, (nee CHAPMAN)

Hi Ron
Sorry, I can't find any connection at present between your Chapmans and
mine. I am currently trying to find the baptism of my gggrandfather
[Thomas Chapman] who was born somewhere in the City of London in 1804/1805.
He died in Battersea in 1863.
All the best with your research.
