Hello
I have resubscribed to this list after being off it for some time. Perhaps
some new subscribers are out there!
I have an interest in finding the family of Samuel Steel Chapman born in
1876 and Elizabeth Bertha Fry also born in 1876. They were married in 1896
in Camberwell. According to their marriage certificate, Samuel's father was
also called Samuel Steel Chapman.
I am having some difficulty tracking them down in the newly available 1901
census but think I may have found them living in Camberwell with two
children Minnie aged 4 and Horace, aged 1 both born in Peckham. This family
also included Alice, Stanley, Gladys and Elsie all born between 1901 and
1909. I have not downloaded the actual census page yet, so cannot say if he
is shown as Samuel Steel Chapman or where they actually lived.
I have found the only five year old Samuel Chapman in the 1881 census for
London. He is a pupil at the St. Marylebone school in Hayes, Middlesex,
which was connected to the St. Marylebone workhouse in London. It does not
give a birth location for him, other than London. I have a found his birth
registraton in the Greenwich district.
I am hoping that someone may recognise this family. Elizabeth Fry is the
only one of my grandfather's eight siblings that I cannot account for.
Maybe there are some Chapman cousins out there!
Audrey Staines nee Fry, Ingersoll, Ontario.

Hi Listers
Having re-joined the list after a long break, I
thought that I should update my interests.
Am particularly interested in any references to
'Sands' Chapman in any locations/dates.
Tree starts in Wicken, Northants, in 1600s with Thomas
who had a son Sands bap 1667. A later Sands, bap
Wicken 1743 married Menella Smith, widow, in Islington
1774. They ended life in Horsham, Sx she died 1813,
he 1837 without issue. Still looking for Menella's
maiden name etc.
My line moved to Bucks and Thomas Sands C was
particularly prominent in Aylesbury 1830s / 1850s.
Any connections / references most welcome.
Keith
