I am convinced that the sheep stealers from Scotland have been boycotted by
the rest of the world. I am about to expose their heritage and get even. How
is everything in the Land of Pleasant Living?
I was beginning to think there were no other Chappies anywhere.

Hi Ron:
My Chapman family came from Nova Scotia. About 5 years before that, they
were in The Black Country. There are not a lot of them there though. When I
checked the IGI on familysearch, I saw that most of the Chapmans were in
Yorkshire and Cornwall. Aren't those two places really far apart. Does
anybody know WHY Chapmans would be in such far-from-each-other places and
then end up in Worcestershire and Staffordshire later on?
Is it true that a Chapman was a traveling salesman? Does that mean that they
just took that name at some point and are not really related? Like at the
end of the Civil War, slaves took the name Lincoln and Washington etc and
they are not related. I would repost my surnames, but I am already posted
everywhere and I'm sure people are sick of seeing my posts. I'll wait until
after the end of the year to try again.
I'm anxiously waiting further input on this. Thanks.
BTW, the land of pleasant living was wet today. Isn't is great. No more
drought. We are often the warmest spot in the state. When it snows in
Cumberland, it only rains here. When it is sunny in Cumberland, it only
rains here. When it is foggy in Cumberland, it only rains here. You get the
picture. Sharon
Hi Listers
Anyone doing CHAPMANs / JOHNSONs from Maltby le Marsh / SaltfleetbyAll
Saints / North Cockerington in Lincolnshire, near Grimsby? Or the branches
of their descendants inAustralia? They were ancestors of my wife, Mary
CHAPMAN. I've heard that english descendants are still in the Lincolnshire
area.
Some descendants went to Australia and the youngest of the Australian issue
went to new Zealand (James Henry CHAPMAN).
Best wishes

Elza, Littlebourne is about 24 miles from Chatham as the crow flies.
Not far to
us, but must have seemed a long way in the 18th century, if you had to
walk ! It is a few miles from Canterbury. I would love to find out
more about Henry Chapman's ancestors. I know more about his wife Sarah
Filmer than I do about him. Sarah's "branch" has been traced back to
the late 14th century. I'll be pleased if you can find any
connections.Peter.
