Is there any way that we could get to the YDNA results so that we at FTDNA
could compare our results with those at Relative Genetics? If only we could
compare results maybe we could come up with more matches.

Subject: [CHAPMAN-DNA] YDNA of Robert Chapman of Saybrook, CT
I had my 26 marker YDNA tests done by Relative Genetics in 2004 and
have
been looking at our various on-line sites for a close match since then. I
have an all-male line through 9 generations to Robert Chapman who settled
in Saybrook, CT in 1634, having come from England to Boston the previous
year. No success. The closest match I saw was sample 37109, #7, in the
Family Tree DNA table; but this sample displays only 12 markers and I
submitted 26 to be included. This past December I was introduced to
another all male line descendant, John, from Robert of Saybrook. John had
his YDNA tests done by Relative Genetics and the results were a complete
match for all 26 of mine!! Our own genealogical research shows that we are
descendants through two different sons of the original Robert, John through
Robert, Jr., and I through Nathanael. There was a third son with
descendants. His name is John. We hope to find a living male descendant
of John to test. The fact that our YDNA tests follow two separate lines of
descent from the Robert who came to Saybrook in 1634 means that he, as our
most recent common ancestor, must have this same YDNA pattern. We hope to
add confirming results from other cousins so that we can then look to
English search to identify Robert's English ancestors who are as yet
unknown. I have been asked to present these studies at the Chapman Family
Convention in San Jose, and I plan to do so on Friday morning, June 2, on a
program with Dan Chapman. Rob in California
